Mint - Indistinguishable from a new book.
Near mint - Slightest signs of previous use only.
Very good - Has been read, shows a little more evidence of previous use. Some edgewear, spine creasing possible, previous owner names, etc.
Fair to good - Still neat but with more signs of previous use. Possible minimal text markings &/or other minor flaws.
Used - Distinctly well-loved &/or showing signs of age such as browning of pages, fragile binding, creases etc.
